New Campaign to Increase Awareness of Psychologists

A new campaign, launched in conjunction with Psychology Month, is urging local politicians to increase awareness and access to psychologists by implementing a range of recommendations. VOCM's Erin Eaton reports.

The "Mind Your Mental Health" campaign was created by the Association of Psychology in Newfoundland and Labrador in partnership with the Canadian Psychological Association.

Beverly McLean with APNL says the campaign seeks to make it a little easier for the public to reach out to their provincial health minister and advocate for increased access to psychological services.

Individuals can send a form letter or an individualized letter online, which will then be sent to government. The letter template and further information about mental health can be found at mymh.ca.
