Governor Nikhil Kumar, who is the Chancellor of the University of Kerala, has issued orders appointing Higher Education Council member N Veeramanikandan as the new Pro-VC of the university. Veeramanikandan, who entered govt college service in 1993, is presently Associate Professor of the Dept of Psychology, Govt College for Women, here and Syndicate member of the Kannur University.

He was awarded doctorate in psychology by the Calicut University.He had earlier served in Govt College, Chittoor and Brennen College, Thalassery. He had served as member of the Board of Studies of the universities of Kerala, Kannur and Kalady. Veeramanikandan is also the general secretary of the All-Kerala Govt College Teachers’ Organisation. Hailing from Kodakkad in Kasaragod dist, Veeramanikandan is the son of N Manoharan Master, former MLA of Hosdurg.
