Michigan bans city psychologist

A Michigan psychology board disciplinary subcommittee has recommended permanent suspension for Fort Wayne-based psychologist Francis John Deisler, who was accused of not reporting past rape and armed robbery convictions in a 1993 application to practice in Michigan. The decision was part of a consent order Thursday.

Michael Loepp, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs spokesman, said Deisler accepted the order.

The agency filed an administrative complaint in May stating that Deisler was convicted in 1973 in Wisconsin of rape and armed robbery and in 1974 of rape, burglary and attempted burglary. The complaint states “no” was marked on his Michigan application for a license when asked of past convictions.
