Men and women are in general far apart about how they view infidelity, research at Kansas State University shows.

Three KSU researchers have co-authored an article in the journal “Evolutionary Psychology,” according to a prepared statement from the university.

“When you give them a forced choice between the two, men tend to be more upset by sexual infidelity situations than women, and women tend to be more upset by emotional situations,” co-author Gary Brase, an associate professor of psychological sciences, said.

The article states that the results came in part from research done with 238 men and 239 women, all heterosexual and about 19 years old.
