Lisa Helen Story
PORTAGE, MI – A memorial service for Portage psychologist Lisa Helen Story will take place Saturday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids.
Story, who died as a result of injuries suffered in a car crash on Aug. 8, worked as a psychologist with John T. Gallagher and Associates in Portage and as a psychologist medical examiner with the Disability Determination Services of the Department of Human Services. Previously, she worked at Southern Michigan Pain Consultants in Portage.
Story attended Wyoming Public Schools, Michigan State University and Florida Institute of Technology, where she earned her doctorate in psychology. She lived and worked in Georgia for many years before moving back to Michigan, where she continued her work in psychology, according to her obituary.
Story enjoyed the outdoors, with hiking, skiing, tennis water sports and gardening among her favorite activities. An avid pet lover, also had a special place in her heart for animals and owned many pets.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lisa's name to any animal charity, the Gift of Life Michigan, or another charity.
