Meet the spiritual psychologist of Buckinghamshire

Neelam Jagasia cannot describe what she does exactly, other than that she helps people. She combines her Masters at Birkbeck College in occupational psychology, her astrology and her Christianity to aid her clients.

Neelam practises at her home in Chorleywood and her clients come from around Buckinghamshire. She claims that her clients are a cross-section of society, including lawyers and doctors.

Neelam said: “Whatever I do, I back it up with science. I can help people, for example if they are having problems getting work but they must have faith. I have a unique spirituality and believe that everyone has their own uniqueness about them. I care a lot about people.”

Neelam’s advice for any single people over the approaching Valentine’s Day is to give flowers away.

She said: “There are different ways that people can experience love. I am going to give flowers to my mum. If they don’t have one, they should have flowers for themselves.”

The 48-year-old mother-of-three added: “People come to me and what I do is I take aspects of psychology that are needed, I have a passion for astrology too and I back everything up with science. I go above and beyond. My service is so unique and I can’t even label myself as I take things from different places. The Indian side of me is very spiritual, I see the good in people.”

Neelam, who went to school in Kent, prides herself on being able to help her clients by helping them believe in themselves. She thinks that her clarity of vision is from the way she leads her life, which includes fasting, meditating and yoga.

She said: “Counsellors will listen to you, psychologists will analyse and I work with the person. I believe in diversity and address every client differently. My approach is bespoke, all these disciplines have something good in them but the real magic happens when you combine the best of them all. Society has too many rules and it doesn’t allow for individuality.”

Neelam described herself as the right person to turn to for people in complete despair, identifying herself as the ‘999 of the mind’.

Although Neelam does charge for her service, she says she waives her fee for anyone in desperate need with a tight budget.
