Medical careers talk for Bury College students

Bury College encourages all students to prepare and consider their future careers, helping individuals improve their employability skills and equipping them for the jobs of the future. As part of this initiative many students benefit from informative careers presentations and work experience. This month, former Bury College student Dr Assad Khan returned to the College to give first year students advice about careers in Medicine.

Dr Khan studied A Level Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Psychology at Bury College before progressing to The University of Nottingham in 2006 to study medicine. A Level and vocational students who attended the presentation gained a frank insight into the medical profession and learned how to improve their UCAS applications by getting relevant work experience and incorporating volunteer work into their College life. Dr Khan also offered advice on interview techniques and topics that may help students to pursue their vocations in medicine.
