McAdam to be guest on Dr. Stan Frager’s radio show Sunday [Opinion: The Arena]

Arena columnist Thomas McAdam will be next Sunday’s guest on the Dr. Stan Frager radio show, on WGTK Talk Radio, 970 on your AM dial.  McAdam will be interviewed during the 9:00 – 10:00 segment on May 20.  The topic of the discussion will be “racism.”  The program will be a call-in format, and interested listeners may join the conversation by telephoning (502) 571-0970

The Dr. Stan Frager Show airs live every Sunday night from 8:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. EST.  WGTK is a regional station in the top 50 market with demographics ranging from 30-60 years of age.  Dr. Frager deals with a with a wide range of topics, including sex, drugs, eating disorders, time management, parenting skills, listening skills, the loss of loved ones, and many others.

Dr. Frager was the host on WHAS radio for 12 1/2 years and maintained the first or second spot in the market from his third year hosting until departing from the station.  After his brief hiatus, Dr. Frager returned to radio after being called by 970 WGTK and is now entering his fourth year with them.  Dr. Frager is notably recognized for his work in sport psychology.

Stanley Frager, PhD, is professor emeritus of social work at the University of Louisville, and received his doctorate from UCLA.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Ethical Hypnosis, the Kentucky Psychological Association and the American Association for Counseling and Guidance. He is a licensed psychologist, also licensed in family, marriage and child therapy and is certified by the American Association of Behavioral Therapists. He is a fellow and diplomat of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and a member of the American Society for Training and Development.  For six years, Dr. Frager has been working with the Army to reduce and prevent suicide.

Dr. Frager received the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award from the Boy Scouts of America, recognizing his commitment to bringing Scouting to culturally diverse and underserved youth. The award is given to an individual who seeks to “improve at risk conditions affecting America’s youth and communities.”
