If we follow the theory that psychological researchers investigate their own deficits, then John Norcross either has reason to make a lot of New Year’s resolutions or he’s not very good at keeping the ones he makes. A psychology professor at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, Norcross has conducted research on resolutions – strategies for keeping them and how successfully we do it, etc.

For a start, he has found that about half of Americans set New Year’s resolutions, most relating to some kind of health issue.
