"Believe me it is wrong to say that one cannot score high in arts stream. Stop underestimating students of humanities. Arts stream offers several options today," said Kriti.

She wants to do Psychology honours from Delhi University and prepare for civil services exam.

While she remained focused in her studies, Kriti said she never skipped entertainment and remained hooked to social media because it kept her abreast of happenings in the world.

"Secluding yourself is not the wise thing to do. After a few hours of study, one should relax a bit to break the monotony and rejuvenate oneself," she said.

Both Kriti and Akshita are big Ranbir Kapoor fans.

"Ranbir is above all. He is too good," says Akhsita, who wants to study Mass Communications from St Xavier's or from Lady Shri Ram. And her next target is to do an MBA. She scored 99% in Psychology, 98% in Political Science and History, 97% in Economics and 95% in English.

"They are plenty of options available in arts stream and I think people should stop cribbing that there is no future in Arts stream. This is an era of breaking myths and misconceptions," she said.

Principal of Manipal Public School Anupama Shukla said it was sad that in Lucknow students do not take much interest in humanities, but Kriti's achievement can prove an inspiration.

Study Hall principal Shalini Sinha said humanities can be equally rewarding and parents should avoid pressuring children into choosing science subjects all the time.
