Four Lake Elsinore Unified School District students are recipients of this year’s Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation annual scholarship awards. During a recent “meet and greet,” each recipient and their families were gathered to be presented with a $1,000 scholarship towards college expenses.
According to Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation Chairman Kevin Pape, “The Foundation Board of Directors is proud of our scholarship winners, and to be a part of their future success in college and chosen careers.”
Winners were selected after an extensive application and interview process by the LEVEF Board of Directors:
Aubrey Kerckhoff—Elsinore High School. Aubrey will attend Cal Baptist this fall. Her ultimate career goal is to major in Psychology so she can pursue an interest in Christian Behavior and Family Counseling.
Shawnie Gerstenberg—Lakeside High School. With interests in both psychology and the humanities, Shawnie is excited about attending UC Santa Barbara this fall.
Lizeth Lomeli—Ortega High School. Lizeth has been accepted at Pasadena City College to become a Dental Hygienist. A career in radio broadcasting and producing her own radio program are long term goals.
Gianna Poidmore—Temescal Canyon High School. Gianna is attending Redlands University this fall, and will major in Biology. Her career pursuits include Nursing or Pediatrics. She plans to minor in Communications.
Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation Board members attended Senior Scholarship Awards events at each high school to formally recognize these scholarship winners.
