A BOOST in professional confidence flowed after psychologist John Nolan's completion of a Charles Sturt University Master of Psychology.

The Port Macquarie psychologist, the guest speaker at next week's CSU alumni and community cocktail reception, will outline how the Master of Psychology changed his life.

He will speak about dramatic improvements in professional confidence and improvements in professional and personal identity as a result of the masters program. Mr Nolan said the quality of the CSU course was "absolutely superlative".

CSU's Master of Psychology provides thorough training in the theory, research, and practice of clinical psychology enabling registered psychologists to obtain a qualification that reflects an enhanced level of knowledge and skills in psychological practice.

Mr Nolan has been a psychologist for about 18 years.

The Vice-Chancellor and president of Charles Sturt University (CSU), Professor Andrew Vann, will host the alumni and community cocktail reception at the Port Macquarie campus from 6pm to 8pm on Monday.

CSU Port Macquarie campus director Dr Muyesser Durur said this was becoming a wonderful annual event for the new campus and the many alumni in the region.

"There are nearly 700 former graduates from all faculties and campuses who live on the Mid-North Coast, so it is a great opportunity for them to catch up with old friends."

If any alumni in the region have not received a personal invitation to this event, contact CSU to be included on the invitation list.
