Jesse Eisenberg says Lex Luthor is a complicated and challenging character …

Ever since Jesse Eisenberg was announced as the man to take on the role of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, many fans have been waiting with baited breath to hear what he has to say, and if he believes he can do justice to the character.

Well, Eisenberg has spoken, and as expected, the role of Lex Luthor is quite complicated and challenging. He revealed quite a few amounts of information when he spoke with Total Film, though he did not give away any plot points in regards to what Luthor is up to.

According to Eisenberg, he has been asked to play a complicated and challenging person in Lex Luthor, which could mean a lot of things.

"There are some indications of how the character should behave based on the script, and then an actor makes it his or her own," says Eisenberg.

"I got to know one of the writers Chris Terrio, and we were able to discuss things at length and figure out who this person is to create a real psychology behind what is, perhaps, in a comic book, a less than totally modern psychology. I can only say I've been asked to play an interesting role. A complicated, challenging person."

We're happy to know that Jesse Eisenberg is playing a complicated and challenging character, because that is exactly what Lex Luthor is. However, we can't help feel concerned by the age of Eisenberg, as it could mean that Luthor is a young man, and in the comics he was definitely older than Superman, probably a similar age to Batman.

Eisenberg even went on to talk about how fans feel he is incapable of bringing to the big screen a Lex Luthor that will be accepted with open arms. He believes he can pull it off, and even states that the script is pretty good, but we've heard that before in the past.

Recent reports have claimed that Lex Luthor considers Superman an alien who doesn't belong, and is looking to destroy him. It is not certain how he plans to do this, but it is said he is seeking to use either Metallo or Doomsday to bring the Man of Steel to his knees.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is aiming for a March 25, 2016 release date. The leading actors here are Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.
