IGNOU students protest result delay

Srinagar: Students perusing Masters Degree in Psychology through the Srinagar centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU) held a protest Monday here against delay in announcement of results.
“We appeared in exams in June last year but the results are yet to declared,” Javed Ahmad, protesting student said.
“ This was our final semester and our degree would have been complete but for the delay in the results,” he said.
The students said while the results of their theory papers were declared on time the results of the practical papers was yet to be declared. “We submitted our assignments and practicals. Completed our internship period but now they are refusing to declare our results,” said another student,
Shah Rakshanda.
The students said that they when they raised the issue with the regional director, they were told that their results had been damaged in floods and they may have to re-appear in the exams.
“If everything got drowned how come the results of some of our colleagues was declared. They have turned indifferent to the suffering of students,” said another student, Mohammad Shafi.
Shouting slogans against the IGNOU Srinagar centre the students demanded that their results should be declared as soon as possible.
