Brunswick Road/Loma Rica Drive Intersection Improvement Project

The Brunswick Road/Loma Rica Drive Intersection Improvement Project will construct a number of improvements designed to significantly enhance intersection and corridor safety and operations.

High-profile improvements include the use of a special High Friction Surface Treatment pavement surface, a state-of-the art traffic signal, the installation of a northbound right turn lane, intersection and roadway widening, corridor safety lighting, advanced warning flashing beacons, radar speed feedback signage, ice sensors designed to detect and inform motorists of icy conditions, and other shoulder, median and drainage improvements.

Historical collision data suggests that a significant number of collisions can be avoided in the future through these improvements.

The project is expected to begin construction on July 8, and be completed in September.

Much of the construction work will take place outside the travelway, and impacts to local traffic should be minimal.

As the project nears completion, pavement surface and striping and rumble strip installation may result in brief periods of lane closures or one-way traffic control that will create minor to moderate traffic delays.

Most of these delays will be limited to hours outside the peak commutes to minimize impacts to area traffic.
