Charlotte, N.C. -
Gardner-Webb senior guard Brianna Dillard was named the 2012 Big South Women's
Basketball Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year, announced the League office on
Thursday night.  Dillard shared the
award with Charleston Southern's Rachelle Coward.

Dillard also earned a spot on the Big South All-Academic
Team for the second straight year.

Dillard, who is graduating this May in only three years, is
working toward a degree in both Psychology and Sociology.  The guard from Richmond, Va. has posted
a 3.94 cumulative grade point average during her time at GWU and as an active
member of the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and volunteers
throughout the year at various schools throughout the community.

This season, as the lone starter from last year's Big South
Championship team, Dillard led the team with 61 steals on the year, which ranks
fourth for the most steals by a single player in a single-season in GWU's
Division I history.  Dillard, who
also led the team in assists with 59 on the season, was third on the team with
5.6 rebounds per game and fourth in scoring with 5.9 points per game.

Dillard posted a season-high 17 points in the Runnin'
Bulldogs' overtime win at Radford and hauled in a career-high 13 rebounds in
the loss at Longwood.

Dillard played in 96 games during her three-year career at
GWU and saw her points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game and steals
per game increase each and every season since joining the Runnin' Bulldogs
program back in 2009.  During her
time at GWU, Dillard has not only been a part of 55 wins over the last three
years, but she has been part of teams that have won a Big South Regular Season
Championship, won a Big South Tournament Championship, made the WNIT and made
the NCAA Tournament, which were all firsts in the program's history.
