GVSU Professor Reappointed to State Autism Council

LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Grand Valley State Psychology Professor Amy Matthews of Grand Haven has been reappointed by Governor Snyder to a four-year term on the Michigan Autism Council. The 12-member panel, created three years ago, serves as an advisory body to review, adopt and implement a statewide plan for comprehensive lifespan support to those afflicted with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. Dr. Matthews is the director of the Statewide Autism Resources and Training Project. Much of the impetus for creating the council came from Lieutenant Governor Calley, who has an autistic daughter.
