Grand Valley State University’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of about 11 acres of land to expand the university’s health facilities at its Nov. 1 meeting. The lots, which are near the northeast side of Grand Rapids, will cost just under $18.9 million and will be added to another four acres that the university already owns.
The purchase will allow for further development of GVSU’s growing College of Health Professions and Kirkhof College of Nursing.
The board also approved the purchase of a vacant lot in Allendale just off 42nd Street, as well as the expansion of Kleiner Commons and the development of three new charter schools in Flint, Troy and Livonia.
