Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments.

Heather Bowlds, 38, of Elk Grove has been appointed associate director of mental health at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Division of Juvenile Justice, where she has been a sexual behavior treatment program coordinator and senior psychologist since 2010 and has served in several positions since 2004, including clinical psychologist, senior psychologist and supervisor. She was a psychological associate at the California Youth Authority from 2002 to 2004. Bowlds is a member of the Massachusetts Adolescent Sex Offender Coalition. She earned a Doctor of Psychology degree in forensic psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $139,404. Bowlds is registered without party preference.

Daniel Drummer, 50, of San Francisco, has been appointed to the Physical Therapy Board of California. Drummer has been a physical therapist at the San Francisco General Hospital Department of Rehabilitation since 1995. He was a physical therapist at the Pennsylvania Hospital Department of Rehabilitation from 1994 to 1995. Drummer earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Temple University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Drummer is registered without party preference.

Oliver Fiehn, 47, of Davis, has been reappointed to the California Scientific Guidance Panel, where he has served since 2013. Fiehn has served in several positions at the University of California, Davis since 2004, including professor and associate professor of metabolomics, director of the Genome Center and faculty lead at the Metabolomics Core in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. He was a group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology from 1998 to 2004, a visiting research scientist at the University of Washington Aebersold Group in 1999 and a research scientist at the Technical University of Berlin, Department of Water Quality Control from 1994 to 1997. Fiehn earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in analytical toxicology from the Technical University of Berlin and a Master of Science degree in analytical chemistry from the Free University of Berlin. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Fiehn is not registered to vote.

Meea Kang, 48, of Davis, has been appointed to the Capitol Area Committee. Kang has been co-founder and president of Domus Development LLC since 2003. She was senior project manager at the A.F. Evans Company from 1998 to 2003 and project manager at the Housing Conservation and Development Corporation from 1996 to 1998. Kang is a member of the California Infill Builders Federation Board of Directors and the Sacramento Housing Alliance Board of Directors. She earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.
