Gloria Lopez has joined the Northampton Community College staff as dean of students.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Dartmouth College ('92), a master's of social work with a certificate in management from the Boston University School of Social Work ('02) and will receive a doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Massachusetts later this year.

Before coming to NCC, Lopez was assistant dean of special programs at North Shore Community College, in Lynn, Mass.; a consultant to the Full-Service Schools Roundtable in Dorcester, Mass.; and a site director at the Posse Foundation Boston.

She also served as a national alumni coordinator at YouthBuild USA, national trainer at the Right Question Project and a prevention specialist/youth development specialist at the Psychological Center in Lawrence, Mass.

Lopez was on the NCC Student Success and Retention Team from September 2011 to September 2012.
