Gigi Hadid Once Dreamed of Being a Forensic Scientist

Gigi Hadid, current Balmain babeVictoria's Secret Angel, and Versace ad star, had a very different career path in mind before becoming the model of the moment.

"I've always been interested in [criminal psychology]. First I wanted to be a doctor," she revealed in a recent interview. "Then I wanted to be a forensic scientist."

But there was one problem with Hadid's plan to one day professionally reenact her favorite CSI episodes: the amount of time it takes to get there.

"To be a forensic scientist means you have to go to school for eight years. I was like, 'Over that!'" she admitted. "I realized what I enjoyed was trying to unravel people's brains, why people commit crimes when they get older."

So instead of enrolling herself in a forensic program, Hadid attended NYC's The New School last year, where she took up courses in criminal psychology. However, after her modeling career's meteoric rise in 2015, never-ending fashion shows and photo shoots forced the 20-year-old to put her higher education on hold.

"I was really happy I waited to commit to modeling full time," the super said, explaining how grateful she is for her time and (albeit very brief) experience as a student: "I think that having a core of other things is so important."

Plus, Hadid—who insists she'll finish her degree once her ever-hectic schedule begins to clear—hasn't completely given up on her dreams of crime scene investigation: "Who knows? I could always be a fact checker on CSI!"
