GCU celebrates ‘Mental Health Week’

--> The Government College University's Psychology Department is celebrating the Mental Health Week to highlight the latest trends and researches in developmental psychology. VC Professor Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman opened the celebrations which began with a poster competition held at the Psychology Department.

Around 120 students from eight educational institutions took part in the competition and displayed, more than hundred, posters which highlighted the miseries of people, and effect of different negative trends including unemployment, poverty, gender-violence, injustice, illiteracy and religious prejudice on people's mental health. The posters were inscribed with interesting and through-provoking headlines.

Speaking on the occasion, GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman appreciated the artwork of the students, saying that artistic expression is the best way to create awareness as it usually has a very strong and direct impact on the thinking of people. The vice chancellor then gave prizes and certificates to the winners.
