LANSING, Mich. (AP/WANE) — A Michigan psychology board disciplinary subcommittee recommended on Thursday that the state permanently suspend the license of a Fort Wayne-based psychologist. Francis Deisler is accused of not reporting past rape and armed robbery convictions when he applied for a license to practice in Michigan.

Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs filed an administrative complaint in May stating that Deisler was convicted of rape and armed robbery in 1973 in Wisconsin and of rape, burglary, and attempted burglary in 1974.

The complaint states that on December 20, 1993, Deisler marked “no” on his Michigan application for a license when asked of past convictions.

The Associated Press left a message earlier this week seeking comment from Deisler’s attorney.
