Honors

Nancy G. Guerra, professor of psychology and newly appointed associate provost for international programs, has been selected to receive the Walter Murdoch Distinguished Professor Award from Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. The award provides a three-year adjunct appointment in Murdoch's Faculty of Health Sciences, where Guerra will spend two weeks a year collaborating with and mentoring junior faculty members.

The Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology has established the Lawrence H. Cohen Outstanding Mentor Award in memory of the late UD professor of psychology, who was known throughout his career as a strong mentor and advocate for students in clinical psychology. The award will be given annually based on criteria including the recipient's exceptional guidance, instruction, supervision, leadership and advocacy on behalf of his or her doctoral students, interns or postdocs. Julie Hubbard, associate professor of psychology and director of UD's clinical science doctoral program, calls the award "a wonderful tribute" to Dr. Cohen, who died in April.
