MANSFIELD, Ohio — Five students from The Ohio State University at Mansfield were among 624 Ohio State students who presented their research projects at the prestigious Denman Undergraduate Research Forum March 25 in Columbus.
Students included: Andrea Murphy, a senior in early childhood education, who presented “Twice-exceptional assessments and referrals”; Mark Matthews, a junior psychology major, who presented “The role of self-affirmation and self-expansion on state self-esteem”; Junior Nick Deems, a psychology major, who presented “Do narcissists prefer to poach a mate?”; Stephanie Brokaw, a sophomore in pharmaceutical sciences, who presented “Soil and water quality of the Mansfield Campus wetlands”; and Desiree Schlund, a senior psychology major, who presented “Impacting beliefs about the nature of poverty: the role of narrative persuasion.”
Faculty mentors include Early Childhood Education Professor Christian Winterbottom, Psychology Professors Amy Brunell and Phil Mazzocco, and Earth Sciences Professor Ozeas Costa.
The students’ projects will be on display at Ohio State Mansfield in the Epperson Atrium in Riedl Hall April 20-23 and during the undergraduate research forum from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. April 23 in Riedl Hall.
