Emmy Jane Debuts with ‘Twinkleberry Pie for My Birthday’

Her inspirational daily experience of riding horses throughout her childhood; the process of raising her children which reminds her of life lessons learned from those experiences; as well as her background in psychology - these have all led first-time author Emmy Jane to publish her first children's book, titled "Twinkleberry Pie for My Birthday." This storybook, named after Jane's first pony, is also a treasure trove of family values.

The story is about a girl who believes she can ride a horse independently because she has been learning to ride since age two. She thinks her parents do not believe the same, as they never allowed her to ride without her mother holding a safety rope attached to the family horse. On the day of her sixth birthday, a day she thinks her parents have forgotten, she learns her assumptions are far from true when she receives a pony of her own.

An excerpt from "Twinkleberry Pie for My Birthday":

"Quite some time later, I thought about the sunny spring morning a pony came into my life. It hit me that I had been so silly to think my parents would forget what day I was born. In the midst of my silliness, I sure wasn't expecting Twinkie for a present. My mom and dad didn't exactly buy horses often. Their huge present definitely let me know that they wanted me to be happy, which was great, but it showed me something else too..."

While young readers are drawn into the engaging storyline of "Twinkleberry Pie for My Birthday," this delightful family tale also promotes values that will surely resonate with children and adults, such as the importance of belief in self, learning from misconceptions, and unconditional parental support.

About the Author
Horses hold a special place in author Emmy Jane's heart. Riding was part of her everyday life during her childhood in upstate New York. Though time has since taken her elsewhere, she never forgot her love of horses. Along the way, Jane left her doctoral candidacy at the California School of Professional Psychology to start a family. Over the past several years, watching her children grow has often reminded her of life lessons she learned through her pony. Those reminders and her professional background inspired this first book of a series about the adorable Twinkleberry Pie.
