Eminems daughter Hailie Scott recently graduated with honors from Chippewa Valley High in Clinton Township, according to the schools newsletter.

The 18-year-old achieved Summa Cum Laude, which is designated for those with a 3.9 or higher grade point average.

In the newsletter, Hailie credited her parents, Marshall Eminem Mathers and his former wife, Kimberly Mathers, for much of what she has done.

Under the category Most Influential During My Lifetime, she wrote: My mother and father are because they have pushed me to be the person I am and have given me all the support to achieve what I have done.

During her time at CVHS, she was in the National Honor Society, Art Club, Key Club, volleyball and Student Council. Honors included an Academic Excellence Award and Department of Psychology Award.

She was also crowned homecoming queen in October, 2013. Her father was on hand to see the homecoming proceedings, but stayed out of public view, according to witnesses. No word on whether he was in the building for her graduation ceremony.

Hailie Scott said in the newsletter that she plans to attend Michigan State University where she will major in psychology or as an entrepreneur.

Word of her academic achievement was a hot topic on social media this weekend.

Macomb Daily readers on Facebook praised her accomplishments.

Rebecca Rose Raines posted: Shes so beautiful and with high honors, thats awesome.

Diana Harmon added: Congratulations to her! Nice to see a celebs child do well honor her parents by acknowledging their importance in her life.

Meanwhile, the daughter of another Michigan icon will be attending college in Ann Arbor in the fall. Media reports this week revealed Madonnas daughter, Lourdes Leon, has selected the University of Michigan.
