Dramani unsure of Reds’ psychology

New Kotoko boss Mas-ud Didi Dramani believes the team’s confidence level has dropped to its lowest following a tepid start to the new season. He will have his first official league game in charge of the champions this weekend.

The Uefa licence A coach, after guiding the maidens to a historic bronze medal at the recently concluded Fifa Under-17 Women’s World cup held in Azerbaijan takes over a side that has started the season with two successive draws in their opening two games in the Glo Premier League.

Expectations among Porcupine fans are huge as they expect him to turn around their dwindling fortunes."It is not going to be too drastic a change but I will try to work on the psychological aspect and see tactically how they have been going on issues so I can try to give them that encouragement and win the confidence back," Dramani said.

Management of the club are beginning to feel the heat from their fans and another slip at home to Heart of Lions on Sunday could prove problematic. Kotoko lie ninth on the Premier league table.

But speaking to the club's paper after meeting with the players, Dramani reassured all of his confidence in the team and commended the assistant coaches who took charge in his absence.

"A very good pre-season programme entails getting the team to play at least four high profile matches alongside the low profile ones that were used to build the players confidence. By my checks, the match against Ashgold was the 4th high profile match after New Edubiase, Ebusua Dwarfs and Amidaus. The good thing is that even though we did not win in the last two important matches, it is important to note that we also did not lose."
