LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University will host a showing of "Doctors of the Dark Side," a documentary about the role of physicians and psychologists in detainee torture, Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. in the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with film-maker Martha Davis; Stephen Paolucci, chair of psychiatry at Geisinger Medical Center; Roy Eidelson, Eidelson Consulting in Philadelphia; and M. Gregg Bloche, professor of law at Georgetown University via video conference.

Director Martha Davis spent four years investigating how psychologists and physicians implemented and covered up the torture of detainees in U.S.-controlled military prisons.

"Doctors of the Dark Side" tells the stories of four detainees and the doctors involved in their abuse.

The film, which has been screened at colleges and universities, is an Official Selection of the United Nations Association Film Festival and the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival.

This screening is part of the 2012-13 Bucknell Film/Media Series, and is sponsored by the Department of Psychology, the University Lectureship Committee, and Psychologists for Social Responsibility (PsySR).
