Deanna Wellens will be the new associate principal at Pilgrim Park Middle School, the school board announced April 28.

Wellens is currently the Dean of Students at Wyoming Middle School in Wyoming, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2003 and a Master's degree for Science in School Psychology from Miami University in 2004.

Wellens will replace Mark Peperkorn, who was promoted to Pilgrim Park Principal earlier this year. Wellens will begin July 1.

"I am excited to return to my home state of Wisconsin and to begin working with the students, staff and families of Pilgrim Park," Wellens said in a news release.
