The University of Texas at Tyler is seeking a nationally
prominent educational leader and scholar for the position of Dean
of the College of Education and Psychology. The successful
candidate will be an innovator whose record of experience indicates
the ability to perpetuate and further develop a quality learning
and research environment, thereby enabling faculty, staff, and
students to excel in their academic, research, and service
endeavors.

An academic component of The University of Texas System, The
University of Texas at Tyler is growing in size and distinction.
The campus is located on 206 acres in beautiful pine and hardwood
forests of East Texas. UT Tyler is forty years old and offers more
than eighty undergraduate and graduate degree programs to nearly
7,000 high-ability students. Continuing its strong commitment to
academic excellence, the University recently began its doctoral
programs and the undergraduate Honors Program. A significant
emphasis of the University is its global awareness program,
GATE.

The College of Education and Psychology, one of five colleges in
the university, prepares education and psychology students for a
range of employment opportunities including schools, agencies,
medical centers, private practice, and business. The College offers
three bachelor's degrees, eight master's degrees, a post-master's
superintendent certification program, a post-baccalaureate teacher
certification program, and is proposing two new doctoral programs.
The College of Education and Psychology is also the academic home
to the Ingenuity Center. The College collaborates with UT Tyler's
new charter school and the Innovation Academy, and has several
research centers. The Department of Psychology and Counseling
offers a wide range of clinical, research, and training activities
with a focus on clinical, counseling, and school psychology. For

Qualifications
Terminal degree in a discipline represented by the College of
Education and Psychology

* Eligible for appointment at the rank of Professor

* Nationally recognized record of scholarship

* Demonstrated record of success with grants and external
fundraising

* Evidence of excellence in university academic administration at
the level of department chair or higher, including curricular,
program, and faculty development, academic assessment, and
management of financial resources

* Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal
and external constituencies

* Leadership experience developing strategies for adapting to
legislative actions, evolving instructional delivery, and market
pressures.

Appointment and Application Information
This position has an anticipated starting date of summer 2013.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and
experience. Nominations are welcome. Review of candidates will
begin March 30th, 2013 and will continue until the
