Cuba: Over 100000 Students in Medical Specialties


The 2012-2013 academic year in Cuba will enroll about 104,000 students of medical specialties at medical schools, Prensa Latina quoted Ministry of Health''s national higher education director Mariheta Cutiño as saying.

Medicine, stomatology, nursing degree, Psychology, and over twenty technical degrees are included in the program at universities and independent faculties of the country's 15 provinces, and the Isle of Youth special municipality.

In an interview wit Granma daily, Cutiño said that about 50,000 students have been registered only in the medicine specialty, including about 13,000 from foreign countries.

Cutiño also said that professors at those educational centers are ready for the academic course and the sector has all the human and material resources to sucessfuly conclude the 2012-2013 academic year.
