Boston University graduates Bennington resident

BOSTON, Mass -- Boston University awarded academic degrees to 1,658 students in January 2012.

Among the graduates was Jenna M. Barry, of Bennington who received a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management.

Local student named to Ithaca College dean's list

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nigel Mears, a junior at Ithaca College has been named to the dean's list for her outstanding performance in the fall 2011 semester in the School of Business.

Hillary Estes named to president's list

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Hillary Estes of Bennington was placed on the president's list for the fall 2011 semester at Framingham State University.

To be selected for the president's list, a student must have been named to the dean's list for three consecutive semesters.

Local student named to Clarkson dean's list

POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Trevor M. Derby, of North Bennington has been placed on the dean's list because of his high level of academic performance at Clarkson's Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering.

Perkins makes dean's list at William Smith College

GENEVA, N.Y. -- Emily Perkins has earned a place on the Fall Semester 2011 dean's list at William Smith College.

She was honored for her fine academic accomplishment, and her involvement in the intellectual life of the College.

Local student makes MCLA dean's list

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --

Cynthia Brown, vice president for academic affairs at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), has announced that Jennifer Eastman of North Bennington was placed on the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester.

To be eligible for the dean's honor list, matriculated students must be enrolled in six or more credit courses, attain a grade point average of 3.25 or better and have no incomplete grades. A total of 625 MCLA students were named to the dean's list this past fall.

Bisson named to dean's list at North Greenville University

TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- North

Greenville University has recognized Martie Lynn Bisson from Pownal, VT for her academic accomplishments by naming her to the dean's list for the spring 2011 semester.

To qualify for the dean's list, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 hours.

Thomas Stevens named to dean's list

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Thomas Stevens of Manchester Center, Vt., son of Betty Wolcott of Castleton, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Bryant and Stratton College. He is majoring in the medical assisting program.

To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must be enrolled in a full-time program and attain a quality point average of 3.3 or higher.

Sharkey named to fall dean's list

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Catherine Sharkey, daughter of James and Wendy Sharkey of Bennington, has been named to the 2011 fall dean's list at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y.

She, a member of the class of 2015, graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School. She is majoring in Peace and Global Studies.

Hamilton student on ‘Alternative Spring Break'

CLINTON, N. Y. -- Nicholas B. Costantino, son of Nancy Bianco of North Bennington and Robert Costantino of Shaftsbury, is one of 100 Hamilton students participating in the college's 19th annual Alternative Spring Break. Participants will perform volunteer work in 10 locations throughout the south during Hamilton's spring break, from March 12-23.

Costantino, a senior majoring in environmental studies, is a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

Vermont Technical College Academic honors

RANDOLPH -- Vermont Technical College announces its president and dean's list Academic Scholars for the 2011 fall semester. To be recognized on the president's or dean's list, students must be seeking a degree; carrying at least 12 credit hours; and may not have received a failing or incomplete grade in any subject during the semester. Both lists recognize high academic honors: the president's list recognizes the college's highest academic achievement with a 4.0 GPA; and the dean's list criteria run from a 3.5 to 3.9.

Delta Epsilon Iota selects Kaitlyn E. Tate

EAGLE BRIDGE, N.Y. -- The Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society has selected Kaitlyn E. Tate for membership in the local chapter at the College of Saint Rose.

Delta Epsilon Iota was established in order to recognize and encourage academic excellence in all fields of study. Students qualify on the basis of academic achievement.

Delta Epsilon Iota's membership is comprised of outstanding scholars attending many of the finest colleges and universities in the country.

Tate is from Eagle Bridge, N.Y. and a member of Cambridge Central School class of 2009. She is the daughter of Judy Tate.

Kratzer named to Phillips Academy Honor Roll

ANDOVER, Mass. -- Isabella A. Kratzer of North Bennington, a member of the class of 2012, has been named to the honor roll at Phillips Academy for the winter term. To be named to the honor roll, students must maintain at least a 5-point grade average on a 6-point scale.

Northeastern announces fall dean's list
