Christian Psychology Pioneer Clyde Narramore Dies

Dr. Clyde Narramore, a prolific Christian author and psychologist, has died at the age of 98.

Narramore made a major impact on the field of Christian psychology and wrote more than 100 books. Among them were This Way to Happiness and The Psychology of Counseling, included in William and Randy Petersen's 100 Christian Books that Changed the Century.

"Dr. Narramore has had one of the most unique ministries of our generation," the Rev. Billy Graham said of him. American Christian leaders such as Dr. James Dobson, Dr. Bruce Wilkinson, Dr. C. Everett Koop and Dr. Gary Collins called him a "pioneer in Christian psychology."

The Narramore Christian Foundation and the Rosemead School of Psychology continue his life's work by training Christians in psychological counseling.

Narramore is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Kevin and Barbara Narramore, and grandson, Byron Yocum.

His wife, Ruth, and daughter Melodie Narramore Yocum predeceased him.

The family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Narramore Institute's Middle East Refugee Project.
