Celebrations: Preston/Page engagement

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Hammett Preston of Opelika announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Leigh, to Capt. Jonathan Stafford Page, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lynn Page of Alexandria.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Richard May and the late Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Hammett Preston, all formerly of Opelika.

Ms. Preston is a graduate of Opelika High School, and received a bachelor of science in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College and a master of social work from Fordham University, all located in New York City, N.Y. She is employed by Magellan Health Services as a Military Family Life Counselor at Fort Hood, Texas.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Richard Stafford of New Richland, Minn., and the late Mr. Stafford, Mr. Gilbert L. Page, and Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn Harold Siegel of Alma, Ga. He is a graduate of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science in Mobile, and received a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Alabama. He presently serves as a Captain in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

The wedding will be Aug. 17, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Opelika.
