Vorbach board certified in clinical psychology

Dr. Anne Marie Vorbach of Marshall has successfully passed examinations to become board-certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and has also become a fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology. This is the highest level examination for clinical psychologists in the United States. Dr. Vorbach completed her doctor of psychology degree at the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University, in 2002.

Dr. Vorbach practices in Marshall at Western Mental Health Center where she specializes dialectical behavioral therapy, psychotherapy with adults, adolescents, and families, eating disorder treatment and psychological testing. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Minnesota Psychological Association, where she serves on the Marriage Equality Task Force.

MMU receives national recognition for reliability, safety practices

Marshall Municipal Utilities and three other members of Missouri River Energy Services were among the 94 public power utilities from across the nation to earn recognition from the American Public Power Association for providing consumers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service. There are more than 2,000 public power utilities throughout the United States.

The four MRES members recognized are all from Minnesota. They are the city of Benson, the Hutchinson Utilities Commission, Marshall Municipal Utilities and the city of Luverne.

There are three levels of recognition in the RP3 program - Diamond, for utilities that successfully meet 100 percent of the defined criteria; Platinum for utilities that meet 90 percent of the criteria; and Gold for utilities that meet 80 percent of the criteria. Marshall earned a score of 95.5 percent during the past year and has been an RP3 award winner since 2008.

Benson, Hutchinson, and Marshall earned the RP3 Platinum designation, while Luverne earned the Gold designation.

"Receiving the RP3 designation means a lot to us," said General Manager Brad Roos of Marshall Municipal Utilities. "It's an honor to be recognized on a national level for the work we are doing in Marshall."

Doherty Staffing Solutions acquires Staffing Specialists

Doherty Staffing Solutions, a staffing and recruiting firm based in Edina, has acquired Staffing Specialists, Inc., dba Job Jockeys, a Marshall-based staffing and recruiting firm that specializes in clerical and light industrial staffing.

Doherty will add Staffing Specialists' sole Marshall location at 230 W. Lyon, Suite 105, to its current list of 10 offices throughout Minnesota, including Owatonna, Mankato, Jackson and Albert Lea.

"We are excited to be a part of the Marshall business community, and pleased that Staffing Specialists has agreed to join our team," said Gauher "Mo" Mohammad, vice president of Doherty's southern Minnesota offices. "The rare opportunity for us to enter this area of the state fits remarkably with Doherty's strategy for expansion."
