Spanish Peaks Behavioral Health recently announced the addition of Chet O. Phelps as chief information officer and Samantha Kommana as chief administrative officer.

Phelps has 17 years experience working on Colorado behavioral health and substance abuse contracts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Colorado.

Kommana has more than 14 years of experience as a director with corporate and nonprofit organizations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Illinois Institute of Psychology in Chicago and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Maharaja Sayaji Rao University in Baroda, India.

Parkview Medical Center recently announced several staffing moves.

Kami Clementi was named emergency medical service coordinator in the trauma services department. Clementi, a Pueblo native who has bachelor’s degrees from Adams State College and Colorado State University-Pueblo, previously served as a registered nurse in the hospital’s emergency department since 2012.

Donna Hill was hired as breast health care navigator in the oncology department. Hill, a Pueblo native with training from the Amoena School for Mastectomy Fitters in Denver and Southwest Phlebotomy in Albuquerque, N.M., previously worked for 34 years for Pueblo physician Dr. Donald Luebke in a variety of positions.

Laura Downs was named executive assistant to hospital CEO Mike Baxter. A Pueblo native, Downs has worked as an executive assistant in other administrative offices at the hospital since 2011 and previously was employed by Pueblo County government and Unisys.

Pueblo Government Agencies Federal Credit Union recently named its 2015-2016 board of directors.

They are George Gott, president; Debby Moreland, vice president; Ernestine Wardlaw-Thomas, secretary; Michael Pekins, treasurer and board members Nancy Trautman, Salvatore Piscitelli and Michael Hurley. Supervisory committee members are Gary Clark, William Forgie, Roxanna Flanary and Frank Perez.

Dr. Rocky Khosla, medical director for Concussion Consultants at Centura, recently received certification in the subspecialty of Brain Injury Medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties after passing the Certificate of Added Qualification Test in Brain Injury Medicine, administered by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in association with other medical boards.

ACOVA volunteers

ACOVA, the victim assistance unit for law enforcement agencies in Pueblo County , is accepting applications through April 3 for volunteer victim advocates.

Volunteers provide on-scene crisis intervention to victims of crime and circumstance. Advocates also provide information on victim rights, the criminal justice process, assist victims with obtaining civil restraining orders and help educate to bring awareness on domestic violence.
