Five individuals have new responsibilities at The Arc of the Ozarks. Kayette Glass has been named lead psychologist, making her clinical director of Cornerstone Psychology Clinic. Libby Barnard is now safety and risk management officer; Lori Pace, director of training and staff development; Jacqueline Atkins, director of community connections and employment solutions, and Cindy Miller, administrative assistant III. Glass earned a doctorate of psychology from Forest Institute and has worked at The Arc for four years. Barnard, a 33-year employee, most recently was director of training and staff development. Pace, who has been at The Arc 16 years, most recently was director of employment solutions and community connections. Atkins just joined The Arc and earned a master's degree in psychology from Evangel University. Miller, a nine-year employee, focuses on supporting the residential needs of clients.

BKD Wealth Advisers named to top list

Jack Thurman, president of BKD Wealth Advisers, LLC, announced recently that BKD Wealth Advisers has been named by the Financial Times to the FT 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers list. Financial Times solicited applications from more than 2,000 independent RIA firms with $300 million or more in assets. As identified by Financial Times, the listing reflected each practice's performance in six primary areas: assets under management, asset growth, compliance record, years in existence, credentials and accessibility. Only independent, elite RIA practices that completed an application were considered.

Metropolitan National Bank

Metropolitan National Bank announced the promotions ofKandice Higdon, promoted from assistant online services manager to AVP – online services manager, andMegan Neyer, promoted from assistant customer service center manager to AVP – customer service center manager. Higdon began her career at Metropolitan National Bank in 2010 as a CRC specialist. She has 13 years experience in the banking industry. Neyer has been in the banking industry since 2008. In 2011, she joined Metropolitan National Bank, holding the titles of retail float and assistant customer service center manager before her promotion to AVP – customer service center manager.

Nixon Lindstrom Insurance

Luanna Halley has joined Nixon Lindstrom Insurance as a personal insurance customer service representative. Halley is a native of Springfield and attended Southwest Missouri State University. Halley has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast

The Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast installed its 2014-15 board of directors during its annual recognition lunch. Rotary assistant district governor John Horton administered the oath of office. The 2014-2015 officers are: president, Heather Ramsey, Great Southern Bank; president-elect, Rick Van Pelt, Van Pelt Van Pelt law firm; secretary, Robin Gann, CoxHealth; treasurer, Mike Pearl, Details Salon; past president, Jim Conley, Kingsley Group Director; club service, Bill Brell, Smile Zone; director, community service, Bill White, Bill White Insurance Agency; director, international service, Irwin Cohen, I.C. consulting director; new generations, Don Harkey, people centric consulting group director; and vocational service, Lori Johnson, TelComm Credit Union.

The Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast is the largest club in the city, with 229 members.

The Whitlock Company

The Whitlock Company, a Springfield-based accounting and professional services firm, announced four staff accountants received a promotion and three accountants obtained their CPA designations. Aaron Henry, Chelsey Dollarhide and Tiffany Montileone were promoted from staff accountant to senior accountant. Henry has a Master's of Accountancy from MSU, Dollarhide has a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from Drury University and Montileone has a Master's of Accountancy from MSU. Melinda Thurmanwas promoted from senior accountant to supervisor. Thurman has a BS in Accounting from MSU and recently obtained her Certified Public Accountant designation. Thurman will oversee the Small Business Services department in her role as supervisor. Senior Accountants Aaron Henry and Eric Lampe also recently obtained their Certified Public Accountant designations. Lampe has a BS in Accounting from MSU.
