Bryn Mawr provost named interim president – Philly.com

Bryn Mawr College has appointed a psychologist who has been on the faculty for 20 years and provost since 2007 as interim president following last month's notice that President Jane McAuliffe would resign in June, the college's Board of Trustees announced today.

Kimberly Wright Cassidy helped create new courses and majors and advanced digital initiatives in the classroom as provost, the school said in a statement.

Cassidy has served on the Bryn Mawr faculty since 1993. Prior to becoming provost, she was chair of the Psychology Department from 2004-2007.

She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Swarthmore College, and a masters and Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

McAuliffe, 68, was Bryn Mawr's eighth president. Her five-year tenure was the shortest in the college's history.
