According to colleagues, I have finally made it. After years of trying to get my research published, it turns out that a whopping h-index (look it up) isn’t the mark of “making it”. You’ve actually arrived when you get emails that call you an “arrogant”, “brainwashed” academic “peddling bullshit”.

Now, everyone’s entitled to an opinion, and I’m sure this particular gentleperson isn’t alone in his or hers. But most of my detractors have at least heard me speak first.
