WATERTOWN, Mass., Jun 17, 2014 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Liaison

, the leader in admissions management solutions, today
announced that the American
Psychological Association (APA)

, has partnered with Liaison to
launch PSYCAS, a centralized application service for candidates in
graduate psychology programs available in January 2015.

PSYCAS will deliver an exceptional applicant experience by allowing
students to research and apply to multiple schools and psychology
programs using a single electronic portfolio that stores common
application criteria. This streamlined process will eliminate
duplication of effort for students, including data entry, ordering of
transcripts, and requesting references and provides an easy, intuitive
interface that helps students navigate and simplify the application
process.

PSYCAS will offer psychology departments the ability to maintain their
unique application requirements and workflow and provide unparalleled
reporting capabilities and real-time metrics that help facilitate better
admissions decisions and dramatically improve the effectiveness of their
application and enrollment process. Departments can analyze their
applicant pool by demographic, manage their pipeline, forecast, and
benchmark from cycle to cycle or compare an individual program to
specified or national cohorts. Integrated administrative services reduce
the costly burdens of administrative work and create a paperless process
that offloads redundant tasks like opening mail, verifying
prerequisites, calculating GPAs, and authenticating transcripts. These
unique services will allow admissions staff to focus on strategic
enrollment initiatives and higher-level interactions with applicants.

“Departments that participate in PSYCAS can maintain their unique
application criteria and review process, while students will only have
to enter common data, like test scores and courses, once. It provides a
great benefit to both applicants and to programs,” said Garth A. Fowler,
PhD, Associate Executive Director, Graduate Post Graduate Education
and Training, American Psychological Association.

“The American Psychological Association’s collaboration with Liaison on
PSYCAS will deliver significant value to both the psychology departments
and applicants of psychology programs nationwide,” said Michael
Behringer, Liaison’s CEO and President. “We are proud of our partnership
and look forward to supporting APA as it works to deliver a
best-in-class experience for graduate enrollment.”

Liaison’s Centralized
Application Service

(CAS™) is used by nearly 30 educational
associations and powers the application process of over 4,500 schools
and programs nationwide. Liaison is a trusted partner to admissions
officers and enrollment professionals at some of the largest and most
innovative universities in the country, with more than one million
applications processed annually.

The APA is the largest scientific and professional organization
representing psychology in the United States. The association’s
membership includes nearly 130,000 researchers, educators, clinicians,
consultants and students. According to the most recent APA data, there
were approximately 30,000 master’s and 80,000 doctoral applications for
graduate study in 2014.
