Alexander J. Shaia speaking at Trinity Baptist Church

Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova hosts Dr. Alexander J. Shaia, who has his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, M.A. in Counseling Education, and is a licensed therapist and mental health counselor, as he speaks on his book, The Hidden Power of the Gospels, and the struggles that plague every individual as they journey through life.

Shaia, founder and director of the Blue Door Retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico, spoke to a large crowd Friday night and Saturday morning, and kept the audience entertained as well as intrigued throughout his talks.

The subject matter covered the four gospel passages of Christianity, but it also has profound and direct correlations to psychology and universal truths. He tackles the four-part journey, or pattern, dubbed “quadratos” which addresses the following cycle: How do we face change, how do we move through trials/suffering, how do we receive joy, and finally how do we mature in service?

This pattern, prevalent in every person, is found in everything from nature’s four seasons to the stages of becoming an adult including change, loss, enlightenment, and maturation.

Shaia will be closing out his lecture series with three opportunities to hear him speak Sunday, September 23rd at 8:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 5:00 p.m. For more information about Dr. Shaia and quadratos please visit alexanderjshaia.com or quadratos.com, and for more information about Trinity Baptist Church please visit trinitybaptistchurch.org.
