Albion church asks, 'What's the big idea?'

Medina Journal-Register — ALBION — Pullman Memorial Universalist Church will begin a monthly series of Chautauqua-style programs this Sunday at 11 a.m. by exploring Depth Psychology.
Deborah Bridge, Ph.D. candidate, will speak about the growing popularity of myth-based psychoanalysis. Depth Psychology is a new counseling movement influenced by Carl Jung, which seeks to go into one’s deep spiritual realms that hold the archetypal motives for our actions. There will be time for questions and answers following the presentation.
Bridge is a former Catholic nun, works as the greenhouse specialist in Rochester’s “Grow Green” urban agriculture program, and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Southern California.
Future presentations in the every-third-Sunday series will address human trafficking and slavery, the global seed crisis, how cyberpunk intersects the psychedelic Sixties, and principled non-violence.
Pastor Lee Richards said, “This monthly series harkens back to the popular Chautauqua assemblies of the late 19th and early 20th centuries that sprang up throughout the United States. Each is designed to acquaint us with a ‘big idea’ in a manner that will feed the mind, body, and spirit.”
The programs are free and open to the public.
