Jonathan Goodman discusses two major news stories and what went wrong.
Jersey City, New Jersey (PRWEB) August 15, 2013
Many people wonder what causes situations like the Edward Snowden NSA information leak and the Bradley Manning incident. That is the question posed by Jonathan Goodman, professor at The School of Internet Marketing and President of Halyard Consulting on his weekly podcast from August 2, 2013.
Goodman talks about two cases that have been prevalent in the news in recent weeks. First, the Bradley Manning case involves the verdict about whether he was guilty of aiding the enemy by leaking national secrets. The second story is about Edward Snowden, who leaked information about the government accessing private citizens' online information. Both of these cases involve the passing of sensitive information about the government to the public.
"The question has to be 'Why aren't these people identified with psychological evaluations?'" – Jonathan Goodman
In Goodman's podcast, he discusses where psychology evaluations are going wrong. People given access to sensitive information should be scrutinized to ensure that they do not have the psychology of a spy, of someone who is angry enough to do harm. Goodman further stresses the concern that these events will bring a wave of more information leaking from admirers of Manning and Snowden. Therefore, there may be more of these instances in the future. His concern is that America will be so concerned about Americans that it will lose focus on the threat of the foreign terrorists.
