“Kristin is an exemplary school psychologist,” said Laura McGrail, a fellow Henderson County Schools psychologist who nominated Shiflet for the award.

McGrail noted that Shiflet had provided excellent school psychology services to Henderson County Schools and Union County Schools, where she worked for two years after moving from Virginia.

“Kristin is extremely knowledgeable and actively pursues a wide range of professional development to enhance her skills,” she said.

Shiflet has received extensive training in the Carbone method of Applied Behavior Analysis/Discrete Trial Instruction. She serves as a trainer and consultant on this methodology for the district. She is also a member of the district’s Autism Cadre and Autism Consultation Team.
