Sarah Tanner crowned Miss Indian NEO

The American Indian Center for Excellence (AICE) and the Native American Student Association (NASA) at Northeastern Oklahoma AM College (NEO) crowned Sarah Tanner as the second-ever Miss Indian NEO on Nov. 6.


Tanner, a psychology major at NEO, is from Jay, Okla., who has been part of the Cherokee National Youth Choir and Cherokee Language Bowl. Tanner holds several leadership positions on campus and is involved with NASA, Sociology Club and Psychology Club. Tanner said she is passionate about maintaining Native culture and preventing childhood obesity in Native populations.
