MARQUETTE, MI. - Robert C. Moore, Ph.D., 75, a 44 year resident of Marquette went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital following a 16 day battle with the complications of a massive stroke.
He was born December 14, 1937 in Minneapolis to Harlow G. Moore and Audrey Swanson Moore and raised in Ironwood MI. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Michigan and graduated with a BA degree from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. He received his MA from Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona and his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Vermont, Burlington, Vermont. He was an associate professor of psychology at Northern Michigan University from 1969 - 1978. He was in private practice as a clinical psychologist from 1975 to 1999 when he sold his practice to Bell Behavioral where he stayed until his retirement in 2009. In addition to general adult psychological evaluations and counseling, he dedicated his career to the evaluation and treatment of traumatic brain injury and forensic psychology.
He is survived by his wife Susan, two daughters Sheryl Rule (Jim) of Marquette, Patricia Moore (David Anthony) of Geneva, Switzerland, two granddaughters Erin Rule and Allison Rule of Marquette, his sister Mary Cohen of Minneapolis and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his favorite dogs Rudolph and Wallace who miss him greatly.

He loved music, reading, his dogs and spending time with his wife and family. Bob was a man of integrity. He loved to make people laugh, always being the consummate jokester. His family was his pride and joy, reveling in a 54 plus year marriage to Susan and maintaining a close relationship with his loved ones throughout his life. He was a hard worker and an extraordinary example to all those around him. He taught perseverance and had the moxie to never give in to life's tribulations. His legacy will live on through all the people he helped and those who loved him. As he is now rejoicing with the angels in heaven, he will forever be remembered on earth as a man who intensely loved his God, his family and laughter.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, August 17, beginning at 12:30 pm until the time of service at 2:30 pm. Church pastors, Dr. Brian Oberg and Pastor Hank Steede will officiate. A dessert reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
