Dr. David Weeks is a British psychologist. He said that sexual pleasure plays a major role in preserving youth. The New York Daily News reported that lovemaking keeps the person young.
Weeks said that sex releases endorphins. These are chemicals that provide feel-good factor to body. Moreover, they act as painkillers that help in easing anxiety and make the person go into sleep easily.
The researcher added to the British Psychological Society that blood circulation is increased by the sexual intercourse. It is good for heart and provides skin that healthy glow. It also burns fat and releases chemicals that encourage the immune system.
Dr. David Weeks told the British Psychological Society that lovemaking is good. He is a former head of old age psychology at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
He added, "Sexuality is definitely not the prerogative of younger people and nor should it be," Sexual satisfaction is a major contributor to quality of life".
