Autism expert and advisory council member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Saima Wazed Hossain Putul has suggested the appointment of psychiatrists in schools for the development of mental health of children.
Putul, the daughter of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, made the call while addressing a function at Dhaka University's Educational and Counseling Psychology department on Monday.
"The role of psychiatrists is important for the development of the mental health of school children," a Dhaka University press release quoted Putul as saying.

After the function, Putul made a courtesy call on Dhaka University Vice
Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on the campus.
During the meeting, they discussed about the development of study curriculum on psychology related subjects.
