PU to remain closed on Monday

LAHORE - All the teaching and non-teaching departments of Punjab University will remain closed on Monday in lieu of the holiday of Iqbal Day.
The PU administration had decided to celebrate the Iqbal Day with zeal and zest and organised a number of activities by keeping all teaching and non-teaching departments open on November 9 to pay tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal and create awareness among students about his teachings.
programmes: The National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), a project of Higher Education Commission mandated to accredit agriculture degree programmes, offered by all the agricultural education institutions in Pakistan, has accredited degree programs of Institute of Agriculture Sciences, University of the Punjab. In this regard, the NAEAC has also published advertisement in national dailies on Sunday November 18, 2011.
workshops: The Department of Applied Psychology is organizing a three-day International Conference on Applied Psychology (ICAPP) on December 16 at the department. In a press statement issued here on Saturday, Department of Applied Psychology Chairperson Prof Dr Rukhsana Kausar said that pre-post conference workshops on areas of specialization related to the descriptions of psychology were also being conducted on December 15, 16 and 19 at the department. She said that renowned foreign delegates and local presenters would participate in the moot. 
meeting: PU Centre for Coal Technology Director Prof Dr Shahid Munir has participated in a meeting for deliberation on draft final report submitted by M/s Snowden on evaluation and re-authentication of coal reserves of the Salt Range and Trans Indus Range.
Punjab Mines and Mineral Department had engaged M/s Snowden, an Australian consulting firm, for the purpose and it had submitted a draft of the final report to Punjab Government. Dr Shahid Munir was called in the meeting held in the office of the Mines and Minerals secretary as an expert for deliberation on draft final report.
